We managed to fit 1 show in before the Lockdown Madness commenced at Crockstead. It was so busy but the 2 youngest Haysden members were totally awesome and beat all the bigger horses! Chippys won her youngstock class out of 13 , also the forigen breeds , was Champion Miniature and Reserve Supreme In hand Champion. Karma at his second ever show was a bit lairy in his first class but pulled himself together to win the part breds.

Layla finished the season in the most amazing style by taking Supreme Horse at the World of colour Championships. She was unbeaten all day winning the Sports Horse, Warmblood and Graded Mare. This fulfilled a dream for Jen who has tried for 6 years with 5 different horses to take this title and Layla even got her first ever photo in the Horse and Hound! Lil Dave competed again for the first time in 3 years and loved every minute of it and certainly remembered how to shine!! He took 3 firsts and Forigen Breed Champion.

Md took both his classes at Saddlesdane on the 14th and Duke and Scottie came along to compete for the first ever time with some excellent results. On the 18th Layla achieved an amazing grading into the Head Studbook of SHBGB - something that has been planned since she was born!! Not many fillies achieve this so we are so proud to have bred this amazing girl. All 4 babies made the long journey to Arena UK for the Supanova miniature championship show. It was Chippys first ever show and she was amazing with 2 wins , Boo had 1 win , Dottie a win and won Mary a trophy! But MD was amazing and won all of his 3 classes. Unfortunately the Supreme went on far too long for them to stay.
We decided to end Layla's 2018 year on her amazing Bucks win so the only September outing was Miniature HOYS with MD . He was awesome gaining 2 firsts and 3 reserve championships and gaining his lifetime MHOYS approval. The roundpen was eventually finished , it has been completely rebuilt and resurfaced and also enlarged by fifty percent.
Chertsey Agricultural show proved very succsessful for Team Haysden with a Ridden Supreme win for Chelsea and Bertie and an In hand Reserve Supreme win for MD. Boo and MD went to the MHCGB championships in Newark for 3 days and behaved amazingly and picked up a couple of wins but the best show of the year for Layla was Bucks County on the 30th where she won an amazingly hot Sports Champion!!! MD thrilled all and won another coloured championship at the MHCGB area show in Hampshire with Boo picking up a win and 2 seconds and Dottie a win and a 4th. Some odd judging saw Layla gain a second and 2 thirds at South of England on the 7th and a very busy south east shire show saw MD winning both his BMHS classes and Boo an awesome first and second. But more importantly they both measured in! A last minute change of horse for the Hickstead Derby meeting paid off as Haysden Spirit won Chaps reserve champion and MD wowed the judge to get a very close second in the youngstock , lovely to see a brave enough judge to put a miniature above other horses!
The first County show kicked off at Newark and Notts with Layla winning the plaited colored class and a second in the sports 2 year olds , being a bit lively we took her to South East shows on the 19th where she won Champion and then pulled out all stops at Herts County on the 26th to win her first ever County Sports Championship , what an achievement for this home bred filly.
Two seconds followed at Suffolk County the following week.
Layla competed at the BSPA Star show on the 15th where she won the plaited horse and then a long journey for MD and Boo on the 22cnd to the latter's first national show . They did not disappoint at the MHCGB Spring Champs and Boo won Pampered Pony Champion ,thrilling us all.
The lovely Loftstar has gone on loan to a lovely lady in Gloucestershire to do some jumping and cross country. A huge decision but as Jen cant really ride anymore it was decided he needed a new home where he was adored in the manner he has become accustomed to , greatly missed here but he is having a lovely time. March the 20th saw the eagerly awaited arrival of a full sibling for MicroDave. So meet Microchip aka Haysden Skyfall an absolutely stunning black frame filly , what a future this little girl is going to have. Her older brother went on to win champion coluored miniature at Ponies Uk Spring Championships on the 24th.
Haysden Liveries has become a nursery already with a gorgeous little orphan foal called Luke owned and bred by Sarah Goodwill. A quiet month with operation number 7 on Jen's shoulder!
The last show of the year ended as well as the year began with MicroDave winning Champion. He is totally back to his lovely , cuddly self after his gelding in October. It was a hard decision to make but he was so unhappy as a colt it was deemed the kindest option.
MicroDave had a few shows this month , on the 11th he won all of his 4 classes and gained Reserve Supreme of Show. Then MD and the 2 Foalies went out to Willow Farm. Haysden MoneyPenny was amazingly well behaved and won an enormous rossa and sasha for Champion foriegn bred foal , she also gained reserve champion miniature and 1st Reserve Champion Foal. Layla gained a very close second in the BSPA youngstock at Suffolk County and another excellent second in the sports at South of England with some lovely comments. Lumpstar went the next day and won the Open Veterans , just a week after Jen's 5th shoulder operation! Sadly he could not carry on his winning streak at Norfolk County as it was 2' under water!
The Daves went to the BSPA show on the 6th and took most of the Championships between them and Haysen Fatboy slim won Reserve Supreme at the South Eastern Cob show with Chelsea the following week. Lumpy had a practice outing at a very busy Poshnags show and also came home with Reserve Supreme and Layla did her first County show as a yearling and was amazing. At Herts County she won the Yearling Sports class , BSPA youngstock and BSPA Reserve Champion. But the highlight of the month had to be a suprise filly foal from Rockstar , aptly named MicroBoo or Haysden Moneypenny for posh.
Layla competed at the BSPA South East Regionals - a momentous occasion as Jen actually managed to show her , she certainly did not disappoint and won the plaited class. Lumpy enjoyed his return to showing after 6 months a bit too much and had brake failure at Great Bookham and MicroDave won Miniature Champion at South East shows with Haysden Squibster taking two classes with Mary Seal.

What an amazing result for Team Haysden's first ever trip to Solihull for the British National Foal of the Year show. Layla traveled up the night before and stayed overnight which she took all in her stride. She then proceeded to gain Champion Coloured foal in the biggest class of the show - 31 foals ! But kept her amazing movement right till the end and gained Reserve Supreme Horse and had a half page write up in the Horse an Hound - absolutely delighted with this girly!
A new show called Equimania in Buckinghamshire resulted in 2 wins and Coloured Champion for MicroDave in very good company. Lumpy was a bit too lit up for his own good and did not stay for the Supreme!!

This month started off with the Daves going to Horsham and District Show , a show that Lofty has got Champion at for the last 3 years. Sadly Lil Dave only got reserve this year so the trophy did not return to Haysden! But he won the NCT class and MicroDave won the youngstock class. Then the next day Lumpy went to Great Bookham again for the VHS direct qualifier and he had an awesome day winning the in hand , ridden and overall Supreme Veteran.
The Daves had a nice trip out to Suffolk County and showed their socks off , sadly the judge was not a miniature fan but MD managed a 3rd in a huge coloured and markings class. And then Lumpy won a huge VHS class at Great Bookham with a few pleased squeals to be back in the ring! And he managed to hold it together at South of England to gain 2 very close seconds with the highest display marks in both classes.
